Hey Composters!
Did you know that over one BILLION pounds of pumpkins are thrown away every single year?!? That's a truly terrifying statistic for composters like us, because we know the harm that does to our environment. We also know how much good it would do to eat or compost those pumpkins. For this reason, we're hosting an event that we're calling Pumpkins on Pratt in downtown Hartford on October, 28th.
Pumpkins on Pratt will feature food trucks, a live DJ, and three pumpkin-related contests!
Carve a jack-o-lantern and bring it to the event on October 28th. First prize is $250 in cash!

Carve a jack-o-lantern and take a picture of it with your Blue Earth Compost pail. If you post it to Instagram or Facebook and tag Blue Earth Compost you'll be entered into a contest to win up to a free year of composting service!
We're really excited to see all the beautiful pumpkin masterpieces! Possibly best of all, we'll be composting all the pumpkins left after the event to make sure that they can go back into the soil. The event is free and open to the public, however, space for pumpkin painting is limited. Please register ASAP to get your spot reserved.
