A question we get asked often is what kind of container we recommend for the countertop. When we're cooking, it's nice to have an easy container to throw our prep scraps into and then transfer to our Blue Earth Compost pail when it's full.
There are so many options out there that cater to many different needs and desires. The questions of materiality, filter or no filter, size, shape, and of course aesthetic, come into consideration.
We've never recommended any specific style or manufacturer because we recognize that everyone is unique. What works in one person's kitchen, won't work in another. But thankfully, the New York Times has come to the rescue with a guide that we hope has an option for everyone.
What we love about their list is that they recommend things that you might already have in your kitchen. Why go out and buy something when you already have it? There are some great options for those looking for an option with the bells and whistles too.
We'd love to know what you think! Comment on this post if you use any of these or with your thoughts about the NY Times article.
